Housing assistance

CAF logoThere is an organization called Caisse des Allocations Familiales (CAF) which can assist you to pay the rent. While staying in our private housing, you can ask for Aide au Logement Social (ALS).

You have to place a request online. The process has to be done in French, within the following days of your arrival.

>>> Please read this article for applying in 2019. <<<

Important points

Conditions of resources

The allocation of housing assistance depends on your own resources, not your parents'. If your parents are subject to Real Estate Tax (TFR), you will not be able to receive housing assistance unless you are not related to your parents' tax home.

When to apply ?

You must apply for housing assistance soon after you arrived. Within the days following your arrival, we will email you a filled attestation de loyer to be attached to your online application. Please note that the first month of your lease term is not taken into account, so you will not receive housing assistance for that month. For example, if you apply in September, you will receive housing assistance only from the October rent.

What if I switch room ?

If you switch room, you must absolutely place a new application on caf.fr. Then we will send you a new attestation de loyer with the date of entry into your new room. You must do this shortly after switching to continue receiving housing assistance without interruption.
